Head lice among governmental primary and middle school students in Garmsar, Semnan Province

The prevalence of head lice (Pediculus humanus capitis) is one the most common infections at all ages, especially among students, and widespread worldwide. This study aimed to investigate infection external factors affecting distribution P.capitis in girls' schools Garmsar city east Semnan province (Iran) from October 2017 April 2018. was descriptive analytical. A total 850 students aged 7 16 14 selected were screened for lice. Data collection performed using a standard questionnaire physical examination hair. completed about personal health practices socio-demographic characteristics students. Analysis chi-square test SPSS software version 18. overall approximately 33.17%. elementary middle school 41.66% 12.8%, respectively. There statistically significant relationship between pediculosis capitis occupation mothers with level education, father's occupation, presence teachers schools, bathing intervals, combing access services, score.
